Seth Lakeman

Acclaimed folk musician Seth Lakeman is set to release his self-produced new album The Granite Way on 14th February 2025, with an accompanying headline UK tour to follow.

Releasing his debut album The Punch Bowl in 2002, it was the follow-up effort Kitty Jay from Devon musician Seth Lakeman that saw him catapulted into the spotlight after it received a nomination for the Mercury Music Prize in 2005.  The Granite Way is a collection of songs recorded alongside a group of longtime collaborators of Seth’s, staying true to his roots and referring to ancient stories that inspired early West Country storytelling.

It was Seth’s thrilling solo performance of the eponymous title track 'Kitty Jay' on live television at the Mercury Awards that won him unanimous praise and started him on an incredible solo journey which has included record deals, 11 album releases (including 6 Top 40), BBC Radio 2 playlisted singles, a clutch of awards and touring all over the world. Recent collaborations (live and on record) include working with Van Morrison, Public Service Broadcasting and Robert Plant.

February 2025 will be a full band tour, featuring musicians who contributed to the new album. They are Benji Kirkpatrick (electric guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin and harmonica), Ben Nicholls (double bass and electric bass), Cormac Byrne (percussion and bodhrán), and Alex Hart (vocals). Seth then plays festivals and shows throughout 2025 including a return to the Minack Theatre in Cornwall.
